Vocal Studio
Louisa wants no stupid singers! By that, she means that she wants to make sure that all of her students can read music and have the ability to learn their music on their own. She not only will teach fantastic technique for both musical theater and classical voice, but she will also make sure that each student develops the tools to feel confident in sight-reading and will learn enough piano to be able to play their own vocal lines. She teaches all ages. Currently she has voice students as young as 6 and as young as 78! Her students have many accomplishments including getting lead roles at their schools as well as performing with Washington National Opera, Olney Theater, The Spot, St. Thomas Playhouse, and The Liberty Theater. Her students have also been accepted to music programs at Rice University, Oberlin College, USC, UCLA, San Francisco Conservatory, University of Michigan, University of Maryland, Howard University, Rutgers, Princeton, and NYU.

Louisa teaches beginner, intermediate, and beginner-advanced students. She uses a combination of music books including Piano Adventures, Faber, classic piano literature, FJH Notespeller, and then personalized assigned pieces. She works with each of her students to create a practice schedule that works for them and for their family. The hardest thing about taking lessons, is the dedication to practice.
